manila: sale! at cardinal ceramics.

portia left a comment on a previous post about a sale at one of my favourite places to shop, the cardinal ceramics outlet:

Hi! We're happy to announce that there will be another Cardinal Ceramics outlet sale at the Market! Market! activity center from June 30 to July 6. We hope to see you there.

for those of you who may not know, cardinal ceramics has been producing porcelain and ceramic wares in the philippines for over 30 years. it began as a vocational project for a "leprosarium", and grew into an international venture in the ensuing years, producing not only the dinnerware for local hotels and restaurants but for brands like dansk and anthropologie. in fact the last time i was in town, i bought pieces from both brands at the outlet shop, at a significant discount (and with no seeming loss of quality).

merienda

for the record, i am not paid for any endorsements, i just really like this place :) if you're in town, and in the mood to shop, this might be a great time for a bargain.

They are a good source of dishware and gifts for homebodies. My sister's got at least 20 years of their stuff, and she keeps buying more. Good thing both their outlet and Market Market are within spitting reach of me :)

lucky woman! i really don't need more stuff from therm. i just want :p

Hi,
I'll be visiting Manila this week and stumbled on your blog. I am interested in this sale. Can you tell me what the address is and I'll check out if I have time? Also, if you have any advice/suggestions on Manila, please let me know!

hi miss.adventure! the sale will be at a mall called market market in fort bonifacio, bonifacio global city, taguig. i'm not exactly sure where the activity center is, but there are information/customer service booths.

what are you interested in doing in manila?

Thank you Santos! Is market market close to or in Manila?
As for activities, we only have a few days and then hope to head out to Palawan. My friend is a food blogger so she'll want to look for good food. Otherwise, just explore the city. I wanted to check out the Taal volcano. Is it worth it? Thanks again!

fort bonifacio is in metro manila, very close to makati.

if you and your friend will be around makati on a saturday, i highly recommend the saturday market at salcedo. if you go to the cardinal ceramics sale at market market, you might want to cross the street to serendra, another shopping/residential development (it's literally across the street, not far at all). there are some very good restaurants there. my current favourite is abé's, which specializes in food from the pampanga region of the philippines. market market also has an outdoor shopping/dining area where you can pick up food specialties from different regions.

palawan is great, my mom and dad just spent a week there and enjoyed it thoroughly. i haven't been to taal volcano in...um, decades?! but i reckon it's worth seeing once :)
