I love pork belly when I make bitter melon Filipino-style. There is a place out in Waipahu that makes that crunchy port dish that is ever so yummy but sinful, too.Acornbudhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17998613311253405980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7154048.post-64180393414874398552011-10-03T02:44:51.076+10:002011-10-03T02:44:51.076+10:00hello acornbud! yes, pork belly in particular seem...hello acornbud! yes, pork belly in particular seems to be quite popular these days. funny because it's so cheap and available on the island, but many friends on the mainland have difficulty finding it. did you indulge in any pork dishes?santos.https://www.blogger.com/profile/15941170936050458728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7154048.post-34692622794994041542011-10-03T02:22:48.484+10:002011-10-03T02:22:48.484+10:00Wow! Your photos make everything look even more lucious!Acornbudhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17998613311253405980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7154048.post-56117707651264248772011-10-01T10:37:27.201+10:002011-10-01T10:37:27.201+10:00miss claudiiiiiiinnneee!!!! next time i'm in S...miss claudiiiiiiinnneee!!!! next time i'm in SF i will bring my ipad or a book so i have something to do whilst standing in line for one of those porchetta sammiches. i only allow myself to purchase pork belly maybe every three months, but boy, do i ever want it every three weeks :)santos.https://www.blogger.com/profile/15941170936050458728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7154048.post-13511200910372296242011-10-01T09:48:34.433+10:002011-10-01T09:48:34.433+10:00Saaaaantos!!! I waaaaaannnnnt. ;) Also - Roli Roti is good, but does not compare to lechon - it is however, a very good porchetta sandwich - possibly the best in the SF/ Bay Area. I have not yet tried NYC's Porchetta porchetta sammich - that will be an assignment next time we visit. BUT - we will try a PBLT next time I'm allowed to cook pork belly at home again (and hopefully tomato season here will still be in swing...) :)claudinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14981595291402676755noreply@blogger.com
